Subaru introduced the all-new, completely redesigned 2015 Legacy today. Along with the expected safety upgrades (including a standard rear-view camera in all models), they’ve announced an estimated fuel efficiency rating of 26mpg city and 36 mpg highway, officially placing it at the top of the AWD midsize sedan class and bringing it very close to its midsize, FWD contemporaries. Those numbers are nothing to scoff at; Subarus have always been leagues ahead of their peers in nearly every other category, and achieving 36mpg in a mid-size sedan with full-time AWD means there are fewer and fewer reasons to own any other type of car.
Inside, the Legacy’s gotten even more luxurious, with the Limited trim line offering perforated leather upholstery, two-position memory on the driver’s seat, three-mode heated front seats and dual-mode heated rear seats, so passengers won’t be so quick to call shotgun (and so disappointed when they lose).
The fact that it’s gorgeous doesn’t hurt things, either.
